Your First Visit

Before your appointment

Please complete our new patient paperwork prior to coming in for your first appointment. Just click on the forms tab and fill out the Patient Information and Health Information forms. Then read and sign the rest of the forms – Appointment Cancellation Policy, Financial Policy Acknowledgment, and HIPPA Acknowledgement. There is nothing to print or bring to your appointment; the forms are submitted electronically into our system.

If you are unable to complete your paperwork prior to your appointment, not a problem! We just kindly
ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time so you have time to complete it in our office.

What to expect in Castle Rock

For most people, you will be meeting one of our highly skilled hygienists, one of our friendly dental assistants, and the doctor at your first visit. We will do a full comprehensive exam that includes X-rays, examining your gum health, checking your teeth for cavities or any other problems, a full comprehensive exam and addressing any other concerns that you might have. If you have any existing restorations, we will examine their current condition. Most first appointments will take a little over an hour, and most often will include having your teeth cleaned. If you have a dental emergency or a pressing dental concern, we can usually take care of your dental issue at your very first visit.

Some people are hesitant about dental treatment because they are embarrassed with the condition of their mouth. Dr. Jones is very understanding and realize that we all have different life experiences and come from different backgrounds. We won’t lecture you on things you should have done better in the past. We are just glad you made the first step to improving your oral health and will focus on the future health of your mouth. Dr. Jones is both conservative when it comes to treatment planning, so you can rest assured that you will never be “overdiagnosed” at Oakwood Dental.
