What is dental bonding?
Dental bonding is a procedure done when a tooth-colored resin material is applied to a tooth using bonding materials and a high-intensity curing light. This kind of bonding is most commonly used for cosmetic or aesthetic purposes to alter the appearance of a chipped tooth or a tooth that may be discolored or fractured and commonly used to repair a decayed tooth. Composite bonding is a cosmetic alternative to amalgam (metallic) fillings, which is a more outdated treatment that may lead to more complications. It can also be used to close spaces between teeth that may have a gap or even to make teeth look longer.
Dental bonding can be done in a single visit with Dr. Jones or Dr. McQuigg. And typically only take about 30 minutes to an hour. Dental bonding can often be done with no anesthesia, however, our patient’s comfort is of the utmost importance to us at Oakwood Dental and we will do whatever we need to do to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during your appointment. Dental Bonding is one of the least expensive cosmetic procedures and is typically covered by most insurance plans. Our office staff at Oakwood Dental will be happy to verify your benefits for you.
