Our team at Oakwood Dental is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of our patients, our staff and their families. On March 20th, Governor Polis signed and executive order to extend the temporary suspension for elective and non-essential procedures. This includes all voluntary or elective surgeries or procedures, whether medical, dental or veterinary. The new executive order has extended our temporary closure through April 14th.

We will be available to our patients in need of emergency dental care as needed throughout this temporary closure.

2017 is a special year for many reasons. One of the more exciting milestones we shared at Oakwood Dental this year was the 20th anniversary for our hygienist Carlene! We often joke about how long Carlene has been cleaning teeth, and like to poke fun that she has been doing it since some of us in the office were in diapers, or not even born yet for that matter! All kidding aside, we have been blessed to have Carlene with us at Oakwood for so long. In her many years here, she has built a large following of patients that she considers friends and family. Carlene always goes out of her way to make sure her patients are comfortable.

Celebrating Our Hygienist

On September 5th, we planned a day full of surprises for Carlene. First, we went all out and decorated the entire office with balloons, banners, and pictures to celebrate the momentous occasion. Needless to say, she was overcome with emotion and happy tears when she walked in to see it all. The rest of the day was lighthearted and jovial, and our patients loved that atmosphere in the office.

Dr. Jones is known for taking the entire staff out for an extended lunch to celebrate our birthdays, and this day had been presented as a birthday lunch to celebrate our hygienist Kathy’s special day. In order to keep the secret, we even scheduled “fake” patients in the afternoon, as the plan was to be closed for the rest of the day to celebrate with our Oakwood Family. We all had a very fun lunch and had a blast creating some fun artwork at Arts on Fire in downtown Castle Rock. This of course came as another emotional surprise to Carlene, who was in the dark all along of all the fun plans. When she found out that she did not have to go back to work for the rest of the afternoon, she was in awe of all we had done to make her day so special.

We want to thank Kathy for sharing her birthday with Carlene for this special occasion. And we want to thank Carlene again for being such valued member of our Oakwood Dental family for so many years. Here is to many more!
